The Female Lead Regretted It After Her Heart Died

Song Keqing transmigrates into an old-fashioned angst novel. As Xu Lianqiu's wife, she is supposed to torment the female lead in every way at first, only to die at Xu Lianqiu's hands after she grows stronger.

Song Keqing doesn't want to die. All she wants is to win Xu Lianqiu over and leave as soon as possible, but as they spend time together, she falls deeply in love with her.

Xu Lianqiu is aloof and chaste, her dark eyes as cold and distant as frost and snow. Yet in the dead of night, she wraps her arms tightly around Song Keqing's neck and whispers her name into her ear.

Song Keqing agrees to Xu Lianqiu's terms: no making their relationship public, no drawing attention to it. She will quietly be Xu Lianqiu's kept lover.

On the fifth anniversary of their relationship, Song Keqing eagerly prepares 999 roses and an engagement ring. Instead, she learns that Xu Lianqiu has bought out the bankrupt Song family and has been in a seven-year relationship with her childhood sweetheart.

Song Keqing finally understands. Xu Lianqiu had been reborn long ago. All the passion and tenderness Song Keqing believed in were merely part of Xu Lianqiu's revenge plan.

Xu Lianqiu never loved her at all. It had all been in Song Keqing's imagination.

With no hope left, Song Keqing follows the plot and leaves this world forever.

On the seventh day after Song Keqing's death, Xu Lianqiu is sorting through her belongings when she finds a pretty little box at the very bottom of a cabinet.

Inside is a jade pendant Song Keqing had prayed for at a temple for three days and nights, hoping it would bring blessings to Xu Lianqiu while she was ill.

When they meet again, Xu Lianqiu's eyes redden. But the woman she has yearned for turns away from her embrace and says coldly,

"Miss Xu, please show some respect."
