[Genshin Impact] The Gold Standard

Pantalone stared without blinking at the ancient demon god before him. His voice grew lower, as if full of deep affection and reverence, though perhaps it was simply acting at its finest. He said, "All the money circulating across the continent is your flesh and blood. In this way, you guarantee all of humanity's sweat, wisdom, and future. This is the trust you have placed in all living beings for thousands of years. But even now, you hope to see humanity reach a place beyond the reach of your guarantee, don't you?"

The story begins when Lumine finds an innocent orphan at the Fortress of Meropide, holding hundreds of thousands of coupons but having no idea how to start living a normal life. She listens to a sad tale from years past and learns once again that even a penny can frustrate a hero. By all rights, this should be a story about a currency war. And it is, except that along the way it returns to the beginning of every tragedy and the truth of Teyvat.

Theme: Don't subject people's hearts to needless trials.
