An ABO story. This is the core premise of the blurb; details to be developed later.
Super lecherous, vengeful genius space pirate E x super resilient, clearheaded Imperial major general O
By sheer chance, He Yi was marked by Ma Qi, an upperclassman who was an Alpha pretending to be an Omega, during his very first week at university.
While He Yi was still savoring the afterglow, the upperclassman coolly buttoned his shirt to hide the marks on his collarbone and neck, then tossed the black-haired young man a gold card and demanded his silence.
He also wanted aftercare: the two of them would temporarily keep up their improper relationship.
He Yi fell into thought.
...Sure, why not.
From then on, the protagonist became the upperclassman's on-call suppressant.
It didn't seem so bad, since neither of them was losing out in terms of looks or compatibility.
As the heir to an old Imperial family, the military academy's class representative, and a rising star of the future military, the upperclassman was generous, kept a regular schedule, and handled things considerately. He was an excellent sugar daddy, and he helped the protagonist, a country bumpkin from a remote star system, quite a bit.
Besides, the upperclassman was actually very much the protagonist's type.
The protagonist was having a really good time.
But beneath their seemingly harmonious arrangement, their feelings gradually grew amid the subtle push and pull between two people who knew different things. At the same time, they successfully planted several problems in their relationship that could be called nuclear explosions.
First, the protagonist wasn't a country bumpkin. He was the young master of a band of space pirates.
Second, the catalytic effects caused by E were irreversible.
Third, the mecha that was one of the protagonist's goals had belonged to the upperclassman's late mother.
Fourth, the Empire had long since rotted from within. Its collapse was only a matter of time. Ordinary people struggled to protect themselves, while the old and new nobility at the top were busy speculating.
And both the protagonist and the upperclassman were considering taking the throne.
Besides all these problems, their romantic troubles were just as heartwarming.
The upperclassman hadn't told the protagonist he was engaged.
One day, after they had just finished cuddling, the protagonist was leaning against the bed as usual, gazing adoringly at the upperclassman as he changed clothes, when the upperclassman quite coolly informed him that he was going to enter a political marriage. His fiance was an Omega, their families were well matched, and they had been betrothed as children. The plan was to marry after graduation.
In other words, he was going to dump the protagonist then.
The upperclassman meant for the protagonist to take the hint and spare them both the embarrassment.
Someone who had become completely immersed in the upperclassman's tenderness, and had even fantasized about marrying him, was stunned. After hearing the news, he instantly forgot to keep his expression in check. With jealousy and anger, the protagonist let out a taunting laugh:
"So I'm plan B?"
The upperclassman swept the hair away from the back of his neck and deftly applied a suppressant patch, then smoothed the wrinkles from his shirt.
"Yes." The blond young man replied calmly, as if they were discussing the weather:
"You are plan B."
Writing what I like and getting flamed for it will only make me happier, so you'd better click the escape button in the upper-left corner.
The more cliche, the more satisfying. This idea came to me around New Year 2024.
I'll try writing a standard love-hate relationship.
I'll write the plot as well as I can, anyway, let's have fun first.
They are each other's plan B.
But the backup choice can still shine like a star.
Theme: Life is like rowing upstream; if you don't advance, you fall behind.
