Zheng, a boy from a small and struggling primitive tribe, survives a brush with death and finds four new voices in his head. They have agreed to deceive him together.
God No. 1: I want you to spread my civilization.
God No. 2: I'll teach you to smelt copper and forge iron.
God No. 3: Would you like to inherit my medical skills?
God No. 4: ...I'm simple. Do you know how to farm?
Zheng says nothing, merely pondering:
What does this "eye on birth" that the four "gods" keep talking about mean?
Four graduate students from a university in Huaguo died in a natural disaster during their graduation trip.
When they opened their eyes again, they discovered they had transmigrated into the body of a boy named Zheng in prehistoric times.
---It was a primitive society with no concept of a nation!
Not only that, they discovered that if Zheng died, they would die too.
To gain the upper hand in their dealings with Zheng, they decided to pretend to be gods.
The agriculture student became the God of Agriculture, the mechanical engineering student the God of Industry, the archaeology student the God of History, and the medical student the God of Medicine...
And so:
Zheng is about to drink filthy water, but the God of Medicine stops him. From then on, he learns about disease prevention, identifies medicinal plants, and studies medicine.
Zheng struggles to survive in the wilderness and, with the God of Agriculture's guidance, finds food, salt, and minerals, avoiding death by starvation.
Zheng develops his tribe, and with the God of Industry's help, uses knowledge to drive progress and technology to win his people's undying loyalty.
Zheng rules the tribe, using the God of History's systems to govern his people. He even establishes the beginnings of a state and sets out on the path of a theocracy.
The four "gods" are very pleased with Zheng's ability to learn. They are busy focusing on development when they discover that the neighboring tribe has come to attack. Just as they are at their wits' end---
They find that Zheng can take on ten men at once and is practically a god of war. What's more, after ripping an enemy apart with his bare hands, he tears something like a soul right out of the man's body and eats it.
---Raw.
Wait, there really are gods in this world?!
As the four stare in shock, Zheng asks:
"Why isn't this god an eye on birth?"
The four: ...They're terrified and in tears.
Bonus scene:
After narrowly escaping death, Zheng returns to the tribe and is ostracized by the chief.
The engineering student says helplessly: "Human relationships are politics."
The agriculture student grumbles: "They can't even get enough to eat, and they're already scheming. What are they going to eat?"
The medical student: "Yeah, what are they going to eat?"
The archaeology student makes a joke: "Once this is done, I'll immediately submit your promotion report!"
The medical student: "I'm going! Don't drink unboiled water, aaah!"
Zheng (holding back): "You four are seriously so noisy!!"
An immensely satisfying primitive-tribe development story.
A story that starts from zero, with an incredibly gifted protagonist.
