Why Did His Majesty Give Up the Throne?

My new novel, The Blind Prince Regent's Husband, is now open! Please check it out!

Why Did His Majesty Give Up the Throne?

Tough on the outside, tender on the inside top x a pretty-boy-loving bottom. Sweet romance, mutual pining, childbirth later on.

I have a reliable update record, so feel free to save this for later!

A note up front: All settings in this story are entirely made up. This is not a professional or research-based work, so please don't overthink the details.

Yue Ze brought home a man with amnesia.

The man lay still in the woods, his face as white as a corpse. He looked half-dead, like someone trying to scam compensation by getting hit by a car.

After thinking it over, Yue Ze decided that the man was so weak he had fainted there, and seemed to be on the verge of death. If he died right beside Yue Ze's home, Yue Ze would have to explain himself to the authorities.

Looking at the man now lying on his bed, Yue Ze swallowed.

...It definitely wasn't because the man was so handsome.

Later, Yue Ze went up the mountain to gather herbs. When he returned, he found the man cooking and chopping wood, and the once-desolate backyard lush with life.

Yue Ze: Wow, I picked up a little field-snail man!

Yue Huai: The water's ready. Go take a bath.

Yue Ze: Blushes.

I think you have improper intentions toward me.

Their life together was peaceful. Just as Yue Ze began to think it would stay that way, the man regained his memory.

Seeing the imperial cloud patterns on the man's robes, Yue Ze fell silent. Their social positions were worlds apart.

Even though he had seen this coming, when the day finally arrived, his heart still felt empty.

From then on, Yue Ze spent most of his time sitting at the table, staring blankly outside. The backyard once again fell into ruin.

Far in the future, Yue Ze looked at the man lying beside him and asked, “Do you blame me for keeping this from you for so long?”

Zhao Jinghuai: “What?”

Yue Ze: “Never mind. Get your hands off me. Stop groping!”

Theme: Don't be a crybaby.
