Strong characters | Band | Roommate fiction | Rivals who are secretly in love
Proud, dazzling, tragic, handsome bottom x somewhat rotten rich-boy top

Zhuo Fei is absolutely certain that he and his new roommate are incompatible in every way.
The day Zhou Jin moves in, Zhuo Fei is crouched on the balcony fixing the washing machine. The "celebrity face" the landlord has been raving about is indeed striking, if you ignore what Zhou Jin calls him: "Hey, you, the crappy fridge repairman."
First of all, he's fixing a washing machine.
Second, whose fridge is kept on the balcony?
Zhou Jin is unlike anyone Zhuo Fei has ever met.
Zhuo Fei has met plenty of tough guys, but never one who's both broke and tough. Zhou Jin can't cook and doesn't even know how to turn on the gas stove.
Sometimes Zhuo Fei wonders how Zhou Jin has made it this far, when he knows nothing and can't do anything, yet walks around acting like he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, all prickly and abrasive.
Patience is a virtue. Besides, there's not much he can do about it. After all, Zhou Jin's only value is that he can split the rent.
Then one late night, Zhou Jin gets drunk, goes to the wrong room, looks at Zhuo Fei's face, and sleepily kisses him. The moment the smell of alcohol hits him, Zhuo Fei clearly feels the warm, wet touch on his lips.
The air falls deathly silent.
That night, they lie in bed with their backs pressed together.
After a long while, Zhou Jin speaks first, his voice hoarse. "What... did I just do?"
Zhuo Fei scoffs. "What, are you going to kill me to keep me quiet?"
★
Zhou Jin is a famous young master in the capital.
Rich, handsome, bad-tempered, and high-maintenance. He looks even better than his name sounds, the kind of handsome that stands out in any crowd. He could coast on his looks or his father's money, but instead he insists on making it on his own and pursuing his dream of making music. He drifts around all day and rarely goes home. Music is his greatest passion.
Of course, given his family background, identity, and status, he and his musical dream are fated to remain strangers.
His father says he's trying to rebel.
Zhou Jin thinks he's nowhere near starting a rebellion. He's just trying to resist.
His rebellion attempt fails, so one afternoon Zhou Jin gets a few buddies to help with his mountain of luggage and kicks open the door of a rented apartment with a bang.
"Hey, you, the crappy fridge repairman." Zhou Jin can't even be bothered to lift his eyelids. "Give me a hand."
The repairman glances at him.
Unexpectedly, although the "repairman" is dressed terribly, he looks pretty good.
But that's all he's got going for him.
The next second, the repairman stands up and looks at the huge crowd outside. His mouth twitches. "Are you an idiot?"
If anyone else said that to Zhou Jin, they'd have been dead eight hundred times over. But for some reason, he barely reacts to the insult.
His breath catches, but his heart pounds. Why does this voice sound so much like the singer from his favorite band, who disappeared without a trace years ago?!

"Have you heard of the band Wander?" Zhou Jin suddenly asks one afternoon. "I like their guitarist and lead singer."
"Could you stop showing off with the foreign words?" Zhuo Fei doesn't understand. The word doesn't even exist in his vocabulary. "Wander, world, whatever. Does it mean the world?"
What an illiterate, Zhou Jin thinks.
Deep down, he looks down on Zhuo Fei. He's a scruffy pain in the neck with no education. He can't bring himself to connect his favorite singer with Zhuo Fei. The very thought disgusts him.
But as soon as Zhuo Fei finishes speaking, he suddenly chokes up.
"Oh," Zhuo Fei says, lowering his eyes to the half-smoked cigarette in his hand, his voice full of mockery. "Now we're talking about some obscure band. They even picked an English name. They can't even scrape together four people, can they?"
"That's right," Zhou Jin says. "Otherwise he wouldn't have to do two jobs by himself."
"What do you like about him?" Zhuo Fei asks.
Zhou Jin falls silent for a long time, without saying a word.
Just as Zhuo Fei is about to lose interest, Zhou Jin suddenly speaks. The rich young master who always looks down on everyone and never lowers his head says, in a voice Zhuo Fei has never heard from him before:
"I... like everything about him."
Reader's guide:
1. The band-related details aren't professional. Please don't nitpick them.
2. One-on-one, happy ending, sweet with a touch of bittersweetness. At heart, I want to write a carefree, funny story ;-)
3. The characters aren't perfect. The bottom isn't very educated, and the top has a bit of a spoiled rich-kid attitude. They're both blunt in speech and rough around the edges, but hard on the outside and soft inside. They can be a little wild, but they're not bad people.
4. Also known as Zhengzheng. Little Zhuo and Little Zhou dream of making music, while Yan Xiaohui dreams of reaching 250 pre-saves. Every favorite means a lot to Xiaohui, so dear readers, please help make that happen >3<
