The Silver Bell Rings

A cruel, cold-hearted emperor x a bewitching witch

-

Crown Prince Chu Jingheng of Zhaoyun is a brave warrior. In just a few years, he expands his kingdom's borders to encompass all of the Central Plains.

In the first year of Zhaoyun, envoys from every nation flock to court to congratulate this extraordinary young emperor on his ascension.

Among them is a red-dressed girl named A Li, who loves wearing a bronze ghost mask and is skilled in witchcraft.

At the imperial banquet, the witch A Li shows no fear when the Emperor of Zhaoyun deliberately makes things difficult for her. She gently moves her wrist, curls her lips, and plucks the moon lute in her hands.

The little snakes disguised as silver ornaments on the girl's red dress suddenly stir at the sound.

Several serpents slide off her, dancing to the silver bells at her waist as they hiss at the guests who had just bullied their mistress!

On the dragon throne, the emperor in a black-and-gold robe watches her without blinking. His thin lips curl, and a dangerous look ripples through his eyes...

That day, the holy maiden of Yelang climbs a high platform built of jade and silver ornaments and dances to pray for rain.

But in the covered walkway at the Listening to Rain Pavilion, Chu Jingheng spots a familiar red figure. A girl in a silk dress is dancing the same rain-prayer dance as the holy maiden on the platform.

This time, she isn't wearing a mask.

With delicate brows and an exquisite face, the girl is as beautiful as a goddess from the heavens. Fine spring rain falls, and the mist rising around the pavilion makes it seem like a fairyland.

The intricately patterned silver bell at her waist rings as her red dress swirls, tugging at the emperor's heartstrings.

Rumor has it that the girls of the southern frontier are skilled in witchcraft, and even the Emperor of Zhaoyun has fallen victim to it.

People say that the once cold and distant emperor was struck by a love spell and can't stop thinking about a girl in a red dress. Her unusual silver bell rings especially haunt his dreams.

But no one knows that

when that silver bell suddenly rings, it stirs the heart even more than a love spell...
