The Gods Dance Above the Clouds

An antisocial, obsessive rabid dog vs. a gentle, resilient rose

1/ Chu Xining still remembered the year she was in her second year of high school, when a huge typhoon struck just before summer vacation.

She came home a day early for the holiday, and only then did she run into Jiang Xun, who had been waiting for her in the storm.

The howling wind and driving rain wouldn't let up.

The rebellious boy sat on the stone steps in front of the house, getting drenched in the rain as if he'd gone mad, oblivious to everything around him.

He radiated a sinister, ruthless aura, staring blankly toward the road, lost in thought.

Chu Xining called out timidly, "...Jiang Xun?"

At the sound of that familiar voice, the boy immediately reined in his violent air and looked up toward the road...

The corners of his eyes were red, and he stared fixedly at Chu Xining, like a puppy who'd been hurt in a fight outside, quietly licking its wounds while gazing at its owner with a pitiful look and begging for affection.
