The Ghostly Big Brother's Childhood Bridegroom

When Pei Jixing was six, he got an older brother.

His brother was pale, and his body was cold as ice.

His brother couldn't go to school or be out in the sun.

His brother couldn't get wet. He even had to walk around the ditch outside the door.

His brother could only drink talisman water every day, and wouldn't even share any with him.

His brother was strange, but he treated him very well. Pei Jixing loved his brother.

But when he was sixteen, his brother died.

Pei Jixing began having nightmares every night and running a fever that wouldn't break.

To save his life, his parents asked a master to give him a jade pendant.

After that, he forgot everything about his brother and went on to live a normal life.

Then, after graduating from college and becoming a mystery writer, he went on a research trip with a director for a film adaptation. An accident left a crack in his jade pendant.

Nightmares began to haunt him. In them, his brother kept calling his name.

At last, he returned to his hometown, only to be restrained by his brother's family as soon as he arrived.

His parents sat nearby, watching him with tears in their eyes.

On the table lay a contract signed more than a decade ago:

Pei Jixing looked at the tiny handprint on the contract, and his face instantly turned pale.

No wonder that gloomy, icy presence always pressed against him late at night, lingering without end and whispering, "You are mine..."

So he really was his ghost brother's child bride...

P.S. The male lead and the love interest are not blood-related and are not registered under the same household.
