[DC Short Story] Becoming a Villain in Gotham

Third person, male lead has no romantic pairing, Gothamite.

There are plenty of original takes, OOC, and stereotypes, and the writing is amateurish, so read with care.

Short story with a misleading title. Run!

Dai Wei was born in Gotham and grew up in Gotham.

Before Dai Wei really got to know Gotham, he always thought that the words "dark" and "terrifying" used to describe it were exaggerated, just fake propaganda spread by people from out of town.

But when his family was beaten to death because his father was addicted to drugs and his mother was addicted to gambling, and he had to work like a slave for a gang just to stay alive, he finally understood that "dark" had always been the right way to describe Gotham.

There was no one left for him to fight for. So when he was used as bait yet again, then beaten half to death and made a scapegoat once again, he finally snapped.

He slaughtered the entire small-time gang, then successfully checked himself into Arkham Asylum due to his mental problems.

Dai Wei thinks the people at Arkham are talented and kindhearted, and he likes it here very much.

But he only has occasional episodes, so when the Joker invited him to help "entertain" Robin, he was lucid.

Theme: Happy ending.
