What Is the Master of Spirits Today?

For some unknown reason, Chiba Chiu has had a strange spiritual-energy-leakage condition since childhood. Specifically, every day, his leaking spiritual energy turns him into all sorts of things.

Pocket knives, rulers, baseball bats, televisions... His life is chaotic, but also unusually interesting.

It may be interesting, but he still wants to live as a proper human. Lying on the bed as a necklace, Chiba Chiu tries to raise his hand... no, he tries to lift his sterling-silver chain. Being human is more fun: then he can use his phone, watch TV, and eat...

That's right. He's been lying on the bed as a necklace for ages, and he's hungry. He also kind of needs to use the bathroom (?)

Chiba Chiu: Don't ask. All I can say is, I don't know why a necklace needs to use the bathroom either.

Fortunately, these transformations are temporary. Most of them end once Chiba Chiu completes a certain task, and even if not, he usually turns back into a human sometime in the middle of the night without realizing it.

One day, while trying to get his spiritual-energy-leakage condition under control, Chiba Chiu is visited by a talking fox.

Kitsune: Become a Saniwa for the Chronology Administration, and you'll only have to go on occasional field assignments. (lowers its voice) We provide room and board, personal care, a permanent position, and subsidies...

Chiba Chiu (eyes shining): Woohoo! I'm in!

Kitsune (chuckling to itself): One more for this month's quota.

Chiba Chiu, currently turned into a fish: Wait, you recruit Saniwa based on how much spiritual energy they have. Can someone help me with this spiritual-energy-leakage problem?

Kitsune: Your citadel will have Yagen-dono, who knows quite a bit about healing and spiritual energy...

So whether it can be cured is something you'll have to find out later :)

You agreed so quickly, the fox thought you didn't care and were enjoying it.

And so Chiba Chiu gets a new place to transform into something different every day.

Kiyomitsu Kashu (examining his freshly painted nails): My master has colored me with his own colors... Tomorrow, I want some of my master's love too~

Chiba Chiu, nail-polish version (rubbing the brush, whose bristles are sticking up in a few places, against the bottle): As long as Kiyomitsu's happy... Ahhh, why won't these two bristles stay down? When I turn back into a person, will my toes curl up or will my hair stand on end?!

Kanesada Izuminokami (raising his sword): No need to hold back... Please, teach me, Master, Aoe-dono.

Aoe Smiling Face: My lord has entrusted me with his body. Naturally, I'll make sure he experiences pleasure to the very end.

Chiba Chiu, wooden-sword version (closing his eyes with a weary expression): Aoe, the pleasure of victory isn't that important to me anymore. What's important is, don't hit me in the face.

? A Touken Ranbu version of the Many Adventures of Martin gag, written on a sudden burst of inspiration

? Assume the writing is average at best. I write whatever comes to mind, so original settings, short chapters, and out-of-character moments are inevitable (emphasis added)

? Mostly daily life in the main citadel, with the sword boys' affection for their Saniwa going UP UP. There is a romance, but it hasn't been decided yet (it might be an everyone-loves-the-Saniwa story)
