I.

Zhu Mingzhao is the only daughter of the Marquis of Zhenbei. With skin as smooth as jade and a delicate, fragrant beauty, she is spoiled into being willful and carefree. Her one flaw is that she can't walk past a beauty without stopping, which has led to plenty of embarrassing incidents.

At a flower-viewing banquet, the new emperor makes her a Noble Consort, but the harem is full of women, and she's always the one who gets bullied.

After a banquet, one of the emperor's favorite consorts sets Zhu Mingzhao up. By a strange coincidence, she discovers a beauty.

The beauty wears red and is as radiant as a jade tree. A few dark red spots of blood stain her pale, cool skin. When she meets Zhu Mingzhao's gaze, her eyes are as dark as lacquer, and she looks like a heavenly immortal.

Zhu Mingzhao immediately brings her back to her palace.

In conversation, she learns that the beauty is a tool her father sent into the palace to help her win the emperor's favor.

With a beauty like this, why should she care about the dog emperor?

II.

The beauty is injured, so Zhu Mingzhao moves in with her and takes care of her day and night.

At first, the beauty resists fiercely and won't let Zhu Mingzhao near her. But later, she even coolly makes up the bed for them both.

Yet on the day the Regent Pei Yuzhao returns to the palace, the beautiful older sister disappears.

As Zhu Mingzhao cries over the beauty and curses that scoundrel Pei Yuzhao, a cold voice sounds behind her.
