After coming of age, people seek partners whose attributes are compatible with their own. But Ye Ningshuang only manifested as an utterly ordinary low-level ability user, and to this day she still had no idea what her spirit form was.

Everyone said her spirit form was weak and refused to match with her. Frail and alone, Ye Ningshuang became the weakest and most pitiful person in the entire interstellar world.

Then, one day, Ye Ningshuang saw her sticky spirit form grow soft tentacles. She tried using it and discovered it was a pink jellyfish. It could grow bigger or smaller, but had no offensive power.

Ye Ningshuang: "..."

It didn't look very useful.

Jellyfish spirit forms had demanding living conditions and could only grow safely in clean, unpolluted water.

After a long search, Ye Ningshuang found a clean pool. Once she was full and content, a rabbit licked her little tentacles.

The limp, soft rabbit warned her, "This is my home."

Ye Ningshuang wasn't scared. Instead, she reached out a tentacle and stroked the rabbit's fluffy ears.

Through the wall, the rabbit's owner, Bian Wensheng, felt as if someone had pinched her soft earlobe. It quickly turned red.

Bian Wensheng was a researcher of dangerous marine-animal spirit forms.

During one research project, Bian Wensheng was attacked, and her spirit form was severely damaged while protecting her.

Repairing a spirit form was a long and despairing process. Just as Bian Wensheng was about to give up, a soft touch brushed her ear and began healing her.

Before Bian Wensheng could beg the other person to keep helping her, Ye Ningshuang spoke first, extending a pink tentacle. "Big Sister, can you take care of me? I only need a little clean, gentle water."

Bian Wensheng: "...Okay."

Ye Ningshuang began living a happy life of free food and cuddling rabbits.

Only, that rabbit got hurt every so often and looked pitiful.

But Ye Ningshuang gradually realized that whenever the rabbit lay in her palm, its injuries healed very quickly.

Ye Ningshuang was delighted. "Do jellyfish tentacles have healing powers?!"

After learning that her spirit form wasn't completely useless, Ye Ningshuang stopped living off others and found a job as a healer.

Working nine to five, Ye Ningshuang lived a busy and happy life.

But the way that rabbit looked at her was getting stranger and stranger.

One day, after coming home late from overtime, Ye Ningshuang felt a pair of soft arms wrap around her waist. Bian Wensheng angrily bit her shoulder. "Why are you getting home so late?"

Ye Ningshuang saw the glowing rabbit spirit form behind Bian Wensheng, glaring at her with the same indignant question.

So the little rabbit she'd cuddled and stroked was Bian Wensheng's spirit form!

Ye Ningshuang explained everything, but Bian Wensheng got jealous and ignored her. "You said I'd be the one taking care of you. Can anyone else give you clean water?"

With no choice, Ye Ningshuang held out her palm as usual to coax her. Bian Wensheng obediently placed her cheek in Ye Ningshuang's palm. A few seconds later, she turned her face away. "It hurts. Rub it..."

Ye Ningshuang: So, so cute.

From a pure, harmless, slightly acidic pool of water to sharing a bed with Bian Wensheng and staying up late night after night.

Ye Ningshuang was horrified. "?!"

"Big Sister, stop putting my tentacles on you!"

Bian Wensheng blinked. "Am I not clean?"

Ye Ningshuang: "..."

That's not what I meant.
