Fu Yiyan is an outstanding student at an interstellar confectionery military academy. She gives off an irresistible sweet cream scent wherever she goes, but she's just a beta who failed to differentiate.

After her arranged-match wife dies in the line of duty, the Federation entrusts Fu Yiyan to her wife's omega friend.

Before long, Fu Yiyan no longer smells of cream. Instead, she carries the scent of her wife's friend's pheromones.

Later on, Fu Yiyan regrets many times that she ever provoked Zhu Ruoshi.

Not only does Zhu Ruoshi monitor her during the day, she also makes Fu Yiyan satisfy her physical needs at night.

Whenever Fu Yiyan carries someone else's pheromones on her, Zhu Ruoshi deliberately goes into heat, covering Fu Yiyan from head to toe with her own scent. Then she makes Fu Yiyan feed her suppressant with her own mouth.

Since betas can't mark anyone, Zhu Ruoshi begs Fu Yiyan over and over to leave a bite mark on her.

After being tormented by the omega until dawn once again, Fu Yiyan decides to save her own skin and runs away. [We're not right for each other! A beta can't satisfy you, Big Sister.]

While they're apart, Fu Yiyan isn't openly harassed.

But her underwear keeps going missing in secret, she wakes up with swollen lips every day, and her coworkers tell her that she reeks of omega pheromones.

With no other option, Fu Yiyan stays up all night waiting for a certain someone to show up.

Just as the omega is about to kiss her, Fu Yiyan opens her eyes and warns her: "Chief Zhu, if you keep this up, I'm changing the door code."

The Federation's Chief Examiner, Zhu Ruoshi, suffers from pheromone-recognition disorder. No alpha is compatible with her, but the beta student from the baking academy is different.

She identifies the scent on Fu Yiyan as the pheromones of alphas with all sorts of fragrances. Only Fu Yiyan can satisfy her.

But Zhu Ruoshi hates that betas can't be controlled by pheromones more than anything. Why can't Fu Yiyan mark her? Why does Fu Yiyan want to break up?

Until she discovers that a young beta woman has appeared by Fu Yiyan's side:
