Zhu Shiqian is a little slow on the uptake and not very good at matters of the heart. So much so that it took her three years together with her partner to realize that something felt off between them, and that there might be a problem with their relationship.

Faced with her partner's explanation, Zhu Shiqian can only think: What? So they weren't together?

At eighteen, Feng Juehuan fell in love with someone for a short while. Apparently even a female fanfiction enthusiast could fall in love. She fell for another fan of the same obscure fandom.

She realized even faster than she had fallen in love that there was no chance for them. After all, Zhu Shiqian was straight. So she personally put an end to that brief, one-sided crush, known only to her.

Then, in the final year of university, she met this former crush again. She was no longer in love, but they were still friends.

So she naturally agreed when the other woman invited her to live together.

Three years passed in a flash. She keenly sensed that something was off with her roommate, Zhu Shiqian, but assumed the other woman was planning to return to her hometown, and began preparing to go back to her own hometown as well.

Then one day, while trying to comfort a friend, Feng Juehuan mentioned that old crush. She had only ever talked about it once in all those years, and she couldn't believe the person in question had happened to overhear.

But it was fine. It was only a crush from the past. She could just explain.

But Zhu Shiqian said, "I thought we were already together."

"This is our third year together."

Well, that's awkward...

"So, could you still fall in love with me? I have no plans to break up with you."
