[Harry Potter] The Dragon Witch of Hogwarts

[Strong heroine, everyone's favorite, feel-good story. Pairing undecided, come pick your favorite!]

At Hogwarts, everyone knew Belea Fafner. When new students asked about her, older students would whisper: Don't let her beautiful looks fool you. This Slytherin Beater has a very apt nickname: the Red Dragon.

Belea pointed at herself and asked in confusion, "Why do you call me the Red Dragon?"

Draco said it was because Belea had a head of thick, brilliant red hair and dazzling golden eyes, and was as breathtakingly beautiful as a dragon. But there were far too many people coveting her beauty, and it drove him crazy. He hoped she would be like a real Red Dragon and breathe fire to burn up all the pesky insects buzzing around her.

Cedric said it was because Belea was strong-willed and determined, charging forward like a dragon, bold and confident. He liked that about her and hoped she wouldn't let the rumors bother her.

Fred said it was because, in Quidditch Matches, Belea killed everything in her path. She swung her bat with such force that no one dared stand in her way. Of course, outside the Quidditch pitch, Belea was still adorable. She'd be even more adorable if she lost to Gryffindor a few more times. Ouch! The Slytherins are hitting him!

George said it was because Miss Red Dragon had a real eye for money and loved shiny things more than anything. A few Galleons would be enough to lure her away, so he was worried she'd run off with that rich blond Malfoy. By the way, he had a big business venture in mind. Did she want to join him and make some money?

Harry, meanwhile, looked a little puzzled. He said that to him, Belea was just Belea: the most special friend who had grown up with him on Privet Drive. He had never thought of her as a "Red Dragon."

Then one day, Belea met a Magizoologist. The scholar, whose name was Newt, said, "The truth is, you are a Red Dragon."

Belea watched scales rise on her arm, then looked up at the curly-haired Hufflepuff scholar as he gently explained the habits of dragons. She spread her wings, soared into the air, and snatched him up.

If she really was a dragon, she didn't have to pretend to be a proper lady anymore!

Whoo! She was going to snatch up every delicious human boy!
