Xie Shi died.
Then she came back to life.
Before she died, she thought her life was supposed to end just like that.
So many people had died before her, and so many more would die after her. She was a hero who should never have been known. Looking back, apart from dying too soon, she seemed to have no regrets about her life.
But who doesn't want to live? Even though she had made her peace with it, she still wanted to stay in this world, a place full of hope and beauty that they would save.
“You can keep on living,” said the System that had saved her. “You and your companions can all keep living.”
So she agreed to the System's request, went to another world, donned secret identities drawn from her companions, and set about saving the world again.
Xie Shi looked forward to the day she could return home and reunite with her companions.
This is a world filled with anomalies and the uncanny. Everyone wants to live, and they are willing to kill others to do so. Morality and kindness have become the most useless things in this world. Humanity has lost all sense of unity, leaving only exploitation and slaughter.
Until one day, a group of strange people appeared.
In a city overrun with zombies, the female doctor who had only ever saved the people she wanted to save lowered her hand of salvation. In a dollhouse, the female artist, absorbed in her paintings, unknowingly gave people hope for life. In an instance steeped in Chinese-style horror, the immortal who seemed to have lived for a very long time and outgrown the recklessness of youth still stepped forward when people asked for help...
Their movements were strange, and they seemed to be everywhere. They were never afraid, and so the things that frightened others seemed less terrifying in their presence.
They really were a strange group. But there was no denying that they brought a spark of life to this rotten world. They taught people to resist, to live together, and to survive through their own efforts without betraying one another.
They were humanity's saviors. They brought people together and helped them find their unity again. Even though the future was still uncertain, they believed that sooner or later, this world and its people would return to the way they once were.
[Because in another world, they had endured a thousand-year struggle that claimed countless lives.]
[So this time, we hope everyone can survive.]
[No one will die again.]
[And every time you open your eyes, there will still be a tomorrow.]
