Sorcerers and those with supernatural abilities had never imagined that demons would appear in this world. Nor had they ever imagined that a mysterious organization called the "Devil Hunters" would appear alongside them.
Their powers were neither sorcery nor supernatural abilities, yet they had a distinct system of their own. Their abilities weren't gifts from heaven. They came from making contracts with devils: give something up, and receive something in return.
And so they witnessed
A boy dropped from the sky and pulled the cord on his chest. With a roar, a chainsaw burst from his flesh. Laughing and howling, he hacked his enemies to pieces beneath a rain of blood;
A young man in a black suit pressed two fingers together in front of his chest. With a thud, a gigantic fox's head emerged from underground and swallowed his enemies whole. At the same time, a demon took shape in the darkness and spat out the character "0." As their enemies screamed, enormous white bones crushed them to pulp.
A girl with horns growing from her head cut her wrist, and a torrent of blood took the shape of an axe. She swung the gleaming axe forged from her blood, baring sharp teeth as she grinned.
And that's not all. There was also the good woman Makima, the surviving Reze, a team-up between Violence and Kobeni Higashiyama, and much more.
"Huh? I'm supposed to fight devils? For real?" asked the people from a world without devils.
As a nonhuman whose heart had been replaced by a devil and who didn't understand emotions, Denji sometimes wondered if he had any human feelings at all. After all, even if Miss Makima died, he'd probably only feel bad for a day or two, then go right back to normal. His life was already so happy now. Nothing else really mattered.
Until that day, when a phone call brought Makima's warning, and the doorbell stopped just as Power said, "Aki." Denji opened the door and saw Aki Hayakawa, transformed into the Gun Fiend.
Ah, so this is what tears are.
While fighting the fiend known as Aki Hayakawa, he had started crying without even realizing it.
Fortunately, Aki Hayakawa still had his human consciousness. With Makima's help, he slowly began to return to normal. No one died, and their home remained whole.
Until they discovered that their world was merging with others
Nameless white mist spread through the streets;
Flesh possessed by evil spirits howled from atop the high-rises;
Organizations lurking in the shadows watched from the dark.
Everything was about to turn upside down.
Fortunately, Denji was no longer alone.
"Pochita, I've already made our wish come true."
Reader's guide: 1. My take on an everyone-survives alternate timeline. Miss Makima is simply a good boss who's a little mischievous. Lots of headcanons, with an OOC warning.
2. The pairing is Denji x Aki.
3. The story starts when Aki becomes the Gun Fiend, then later crosses over with Jujutsu Kaisen, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Detective Conan.
4. Overall, it's a healing slice-of-life story (really?), so don't expect much plot (looks away).
