Who cried when the number one sect cut staff and hit its own lifeline?
[The lifeline they cut →] Zhuxin: No idea. I was laughing pretty hard, anyway.
After Zhuxin was laid off
Her master, who never paid attention to sect affairs and devoted herself solely to cultivating the Heartless Dao: Where's my little disciple? Where's my big, strong little disciple?
The sect leader next door, a thousand years old and devoted to the ways of a virtuous man, desperate to marry: The betrothal gifts, I mean, the marriage contract, no, the invitation! Has the invitation been sent yet?
Her childhood friend, a crown prince who murdered all his brothers and really does have a throne to inherit: My company needs talent like you [business smile] [reaches out]
The handsome merman, lovesick and living in the sewers under Zhuxin's house: Big sister, it's so dark down here, and there are so many rats [crunch], so many bugs [crunch]. I'm scared~
Laid off? No problem. Zhuxin: I'm done being an employee, Sect Leader!
So Zhuxin started a new venture, rolled up her sleeves, carved out a mountain, and founded her own sect.
The only one who followed Zhuxin after being laid off was her utterly useless little sidekick.
Daytime, little sidekick: A person can't have a master, a fiance, a childhood friend, and a baby merman all at once...
Zhuxin: Move aside. Yes, don't lean against the door. Let them in.
Nighttime, little sidekick: Magic mirror, magic mirror, who is Zhuxin's most trusted knight?
[Note]:
1. Couple: A career-minded heroine who has been reborn multiple times, knows all the usual tricks, and is focused on reaching the ending *a knight commander from a Western fantasy world, a model of masculine virtue, and a lovesick sidekick hero
2. This is a future release. I haven't thought of anything else to note yet, but I'll add it when I do~
Theme: Rely on yourself, and you'll have enough to eat and wear.
