Falling in Love with an Owl Is Hard

(The main story is complete, paragraph comments are open, and bonus chapters are dropping~)

Hoshino Kie has a childhood friend who plays volleyball better than anyone in the world.

And also the world's biggest idiot of a childhood friend.

She just can't understand why anyone would choose to go to the gym for a satisfying game of volleyball without the slightest hesitation, instead of having dinner with a nationally famous JK beauty!

Hoshino: Akaashi, do you think Kotaro will marry volleyball and bring it home as his wife someday?

Akaashi: ...That isn't going to happen, Hoshino-senpai.

Hoshino Kie didn't believe him, and gave the owl another chance. Before she'd even offered him a choice, the owl had already charged off to the gym.

She was so mad that Hoshino Kie decided to stop being friends with Bokuto for one minute.

In Bokuto's dictionary, the words "childhood friend" mean Hoshino Kie, and mean that the two of them will always be together.

So why does everyone think that guy on TV has more chemistry with Hoshino than Bokuto does?

Bokuto: Hey, Akaashi, what's "chemistry"?

Akaashi: ...Bokuto-senpai, Hoshino-senpai said that if you can't take responsibility as the ace in today's game, she won't give you a ticket to the theater show.

Bokuto: Ah, damn it! Those shows are all so boring, but I absolutely can't miss seeing Kie! Go defeat all the opponents, Akaashi! HEY HEY HEY!

Bokuto has the smartest, prettiest, cutest, kindest childhood friend in the world.

And the childhood friend he likes most of all.

#Some inevitable OOC. For fans of rivalry over a girl and love-triangle drama. If that's not your thing, feel free to leave; no need to tell me you're dropping the story~

#Mostly follows the original timeline. Not much volleyball match description, and this is my take on a Japanese high school.

#The author is a die-hard BG fan. I read the original as friendship-only, so please don't mention any male-male ships in the comments. Please respect one another. Thanks for understanding~

#If all that works for you, then enjoy the story! Thank you to every lovely reader who likes it!
