Sophie's Perfect World

At the coming-of-age ball on her eighteenth birthday, Sophie met Salevi, the man her parents had arranged for her to marry.

He was tall and handsome, with a witty manner, the dream man of countless girls. More importantly, his family was richer than a kingdom, and he was so young that he was a once-in-a-century catch.

"Sophie, stop hesitating and marry him already!" the Count and Countess urged, practically ready to hold the wedding right then and there. "Marry him, and you'll have everything. You won't just be entering a marriage, but a perfect world. Everyone will envy you."

But was it really so?

Only Sophie knew how many flaws Salevi had. He was arrogant, violent, petty, and utterly selfish. Even the humor for which he was so widely praised was laced with disrespect toward women. He was deeply proud to have been born a man and looked down on every woman from the bottom of his heart, even his own mother.

Could marrying him really make her happy? Sophie didn't believe it.

She would resist!

She would resist her family, marriage, and everyone who tried to control her! She wanted dignity, freedom, and independence. She would build a truly perfect world with her own hands!

She was sure to succeed!
