Stealing Someone's Partner

Wu Ying pursued Xu Chengyuan for two years. He was the only one she ever saw, but he never once looked back at her.

One rainy night, Wu Ying braved the downpour to bring medicine to the place where Xu Chengyuan was attending a business dinner. She waited in the rain for an hour before learning from someone else that he had already left.

It wasn't the first time this had happened, but she still felt an indescribable sense of disappointment.

She crouched beneath the eaves, half-soaked by the rain, hugging her knees as she waited for it to pass.

After an unknown amount of time, a pair of gleaming black leather shoes appeared before her. Her gaze traveled slowly up the trouser legs, and she saw a tall, handsome man looking down at her beneath a black umbrella, the corners of his mouth slightly raised. “...Wu Ying, right? Why are you here alone?”

Everyone in their circle knew that the Xu family had sponsored a girl several years ago, and that for ten years she had been chasing after him like a little shadow. Liang Wenhe had heard about it too, but had only ever treated it as a bit of gossip.

That was until he saw a petite figure crouching under the eaves on a rainy night after a business dinner. She looked as pitiful as a little bird with soaked feathers, and he guessed who she was at first sight.

When he saw her slowly raise her head, her round eyes drooping slightly, the corners red as she gazed up at him in misery, he smiled.

He thought: Since nobody wants her, I'll take her.

Liang Wenhe watched Xu Chengyuan stare at him as if facing a formidable enemy, warning him to stay away from Wu Ying. He could not suppress the delight in his eyes.

Perhaps Xu Chengyuan himself had no idea how much he cared about Wu Ying.

On the surface, Wu Ying seemed to be the one relentlessly pursuing him, but in reality, they were probably in love with each other, and would eventually end up together.

But what did that matter?

Call it stealing someone else's love, taking advantage of an opening, or even being the other man. With him around, they would never be together.

He would never let them be together.
