On Song Quan's twelfth birthday, his father brought a boy home. The boy was wearing an old school uniform. He was thin, his hair covered his eyes, and he was soaked through. He looked just like a pitiful stray dog.
His father told him, "Xiao Quan, this is Lin Jian. He'll be living with us from now on."
The pampered young master had looked down on him from the start, ordering him around as if he were his servant. But no matter how badly Song Quan treated him, Lin Jian seemed to have endless patience and never got angry. Gradually, Song Quan accepted his presence.
Four years passed like this. When Song Quan was sixteen, Lin Jian moved away.
Not long afterward, disaster struck the Song family, and they fell into ruin. The young master who had once been the center of everyone's attention became a stray overnight.
His personality grew increasingly quiet, and he even started wearing a mask to avoid drawing attention.
He never thought he would see Lin Jian again at university.
When they met again, Lin Jian seemed like a different person.
Song Quan didn't dare admit who he was. All he could do was try to avoid Lin Jian. He thought Lin Jian hadn't recognized him, but one day, Lin Jian cornered him in an empty classroom.
The perfect, aloof senior everyone admired pinned him in a corner and stared at him, his eyes unreadable. "Are you going to keep pretending you don't know me?"
.
After Lin Jian's father passed away, Lin Jian moved in with the Song family.
The Songs had a young master. Everyone said he was spoiled and difficult to get along with. But to Lin Jian, he was an unreachable moon.
He had saved Lin Jian, pulling him out of an abyss of despair that seemed to have no end.
