When Muzan's Childhood Friend Was Gintoki

[Preorder: Confessing to a Fairy-Tale Prince After Dressing as a Girl]

[Chapter comments are open]

At first, Muzan didn't care about Gintoki, because Gintoki had nothing he envied. But once illness ravaged him, he grew jealous of Gintoki's body, his attitude, and those eyes that always held a warmth.

It shouldn't have been like this.

"You should accept death honestly."

"Why should I? I absolutely refuse!"

Muzan hated Gintoki. They'd grown up together, yet Gintoki seemed eager for him to die.

But when Gintoki went to search for the Blue Spider Lily while carrying him, afraid of the sunlight, Muzan, who had always been proud and competitive, realized that he might have fallen for that fellow who said strange things, lacked ambition, and spent his days lazing about.

He recovered his health.

And then

He and Gintoki came to Gintoki's world.

The tiny Yorozuya office wasn't even as big as his room.

Muzan, who'd never lacked food, clothing, or money, was driven nearly into depression by their straitened circumstances.

"You're going to have to get used to this, you know."

"What?"

"Getting used to being poor."

"...Go die, Gintoki."

Gintoki's Rules for Taking Care of Muzan:

1. Undermine him.

2. Leave him hanging.

3. Pat his head.

4. Keep patting his head (and, if possible, sneak off with some money).

Confessing to a Fairy-Tale Prince After Dressing as a Girl

Blurb

I transmigrated into a fairy-tale forest as a hunter's son.

I thought I'd transmigrated into a fairy-tale world because I kept hearing stories about princes and princesses being cursed, then getting through their ordeals and living happily ever after with the people who rescued them.

And my hunter father had made me wear girls' clothes since I was little because someone had told him that was the only way to make sure I grew up safe. Since I often wore a red cloak, plenty of people called me Little Red Riding Hood.

I was conflicted. Had I gotten the Little Red Riding Hood script? But I didn't have a grandmother.

I had no plans to go to the royal city and show off my intelligence, which was far beyond people of this era. I'd gotten used to life in the forest, so I settled into farming.

One day, I opened the window and found a vivid rose growing right in front of it, in my vegetable patch. I was baffled. I had no interest in buying rose seeds, let alone growing a rose that beautiful.

Besides, what kind of rose could take root, sprout, and bloom in just one day? It had to be either a magical plant or someone under a curse.

I had three choices: First, pull it out. Second, ignore it. Third, follow the redemption-story script and ask if it needed help.

I chose to ignore it on the first day. On the second day, I saw that the rose had turned into a lollipop rose covered in flowers.

I was stunned. Only magic could do that.

I asked if it needed help.

The lollipop rose suddenly reached out a branch to touch my hand, then bent the branch into the shape of a heart.

Me: "..."

I had no idea how to deal with this strange rose.

My father was careless and, when he noticed it, didn't find anything strange about it at all. He just wanted to pick a couple of flowers and put them in front of my mother's portrait.

The rose didn't act strangely in front of my father. It let him pick two roses. I thought it was generous, but that night it came straight into my room, threw out the pothos in my vase, and shoved itself inside.

I was stunned all over again.

I stroked the rose and asked what help it needed.

Once again, it wrapped itself around my wrist and made me breathe in its rosy fragrance.

Maybe the rose spirit in front of me was courting me.

But I'm a man.
