The Duke's Household's Childhood Sweetheart

Something new happened at the Xie family's home in the Duke Dingguo residence:

Xie Xuanqing, the eldest son of the main branch, had devoted himself to studying for the civil service exams since childhood. At fourteen, he still had no maid to attend to him. And yet, he had brought home a little girl!

Xie Xuanqing explained to his mother: "Two families were fighting over buying her and almost came to blows. I felt sorry for her, so I overruled them both and brought her back. Please find a place for her now, Mother."

Madam Xie smiled. "The iron tree has blossomed. You finally feel compassion for a girl. How rare. You brought her home, so you can find a place for her yourself. Why are you asking me?"

Xie Xuanqing: "..."

Xie Xuanqing brought the little maid back to his study.

The little maid was only eleven or twelve, timid and shy, with clear, limpid eyes, black and white as distinct as day and night.

Xie Xuanqing wanted to ask her to pour tea, but before the words left his lips, he thought better of it.

He went to his mother again. "There isn't a single woman in my study, only young male servants. She doesn't even have anyone to talk to. Please give me two matrons to keep her company."

Madam Xie: "..."

1. The main story is told from the heroine's perspective ^^.

2. Happy ending, both are virgins, emotionally and physically devoted to each other, childhood friends, young master and little maid.

3. Readers who are very particular about the male lead, beware. Readers with high standards for the heroine's morality and character, beware.

4. This isn't just about the leads. It also follows the whole Duke Dingguo household, with plenty of side-character storylines. If that bothers you, beware.

5. Fictional setting, no need to fact-check.

Theme: None for now.
