After Marrying in My Elder Sister's Place

Ji Yunshu has spent years lying flat. Then, after an accident, she transmigrates into the body of a concubine-born daughter in a sixth-rank official's family in ancient times. She eats and drinks to her heart's content and keeps lazing around. Who could have guessed that just as her wedding approaches, her father would be promoted and move to the capital, where she happens to be caught up in the selection of imperial consorts? To reward the Marquis of Pingliang for his military achievements, the emperor casually chooses a young lady from a middling family to be his wife. The marriage falls to Ji Yunshu's family. Xie Yuan, the Marquis of Pingliang, has spent years at war and killed countless people. He's so fearsome that he can stop children from crying, and they say his whole body is surrounded by a murderous aura. Ji Yunshu's legitimate older sister is frail and delicate. As soon as she hears the imperial decree announcing her marriage, she falls ill and cannot get out of bed. Her father and stepmother can't bear to let the legitimate daughter suffer, so on the wedding day, they stuff Ji Yunshu, who already has a betrothal, into the bridal sedan. - Xie Yuan is the son of a marquis from a family of military officers. His heart is set on defending his country and driving out foreign invaders; he has no interest in marriage or romance. After a lifetime of achievements, he is suddenly granted a marriage by the emperor. Though unhappy that his intended bride is frail and useless, he never considers refusing the match and defying the imperial decree. He can just bring her home and keep her there. On their wedding night, Xie Yuan receives an urgent assignment and cannot be at the manor. Two days later, he hurries back. When he hears from the servants that the Ji family switched daughters, his face turns dark, and he heads to the rear courtyard to investigate. His hearing is exceptionally keen. Before he even reaches the wall, he hears a maid complain: The marquis still hasn't come back, and tomorrow is the day the bride visits her parents. Their young lady has really been wronged. The "young lady" replies without a care: Who cares about him? The weather will be clear tomorrow. Why not think about how to stop by Weifeng House for a braised pork knuckle? Does the Marquis of Pingliang's manor not feed her?! Xie Yuan turns and walks away. That night, he brings back a braised pork knuckle and enters his new wife's room. 1.
