I Play Volleyball in Qingcheng

[Apology] I came up with this story on a whim while watching Haikyuu!!, but after only one viewing, I really couldn't get the characters' personalities quite right.

If I decide to write it properly, I'll definitely need to watch it a few more times. I also don't feel confident writing volleyball well, so I'm truly sorry to everyone who bookmarked this. I can't write it anytime soon.

Huang Weiyi has a childhood friend named Hinata Shoyo.

In sixth grade, at Hinata's invitation, he began pursuing and learning volleyball.

After three quiet years in his junior high boys' volleyball club, Huang Weiyi decided to apply to a school with a particularly strong boys' volleyball team.

And so Aoba Johsai High School caught his eye.

On the first day of school, the Aoba Johsai boys' volleyball team was going through its usual basic training.

They were discussing whether any promising new players would join them that year when someone pushed open the gym doors.

A handsome boy, every bit as good-looking as Tōru Oikawa, stood up straight and bowed at a perfect 90-degree angle.

“Hello, seniors. I'm Huang Weiyi, a graduate of Yukigaoka Junior High. I'm 185.31 centimeters tall and weigh 73.1 kilograms. I look forward to working with you!”

Despite the confidence with which he had walked into the volleyball club alone, his volleyball skills were so awful they made everyone want to scream.

His serves hit the net, he missed his receives, his blocks were several steps too slow, and even when he spiked, nine times out of ten he missed the ball being set to him.

His only real strength was his extraordinary desire to improve.

After missing yet another spike, Huang Weiyi's fighting spirit burned even brighter.

“Oikawa-senpai, could you set me the ball a hundred more times?”

After being forced to set three rounds of a hundred balls each, Tōru Oikawa's smile froze.

If all else fails, I'll just play opposite hitter myself.
