The Mermaid and the Dog

[Full manuscript complete, regular updates guaranteed, no hiatus]

[Strongly possessive, frail and disabled shou x Pretends to be a loyal dog but is secretly cunning gong]

Ke Yu was the dog I picked up from a pile of mud.

When I no longer wanted him, I could kick him out and leave him stuck in the mire, unable to crawl free.

I hated him, teased him, and did all sorts of terrible things to him.

Yet little by little, I began to trust him, depend on him, and want him all to myself.

I helped him rise to the center of power at the Ke Group, giving him everything I had.

At the company, we were boss and subordinate. I gave him the cold shoulder, and he obeyed me.

At night, though, I clung tightly to him and let him take control.

My legs were disabled. Only in the water could I feel free.

Ke Yu and I kissed in the sea. A thought suddenly occurred to me: "I wish I were a mermaid." Then I could live forever in the ocean called Ke Yu.

Ke Yu took my words to heart.

So after dropping his disguise, he kept me in a giant glass fish tank for his own enjoyment.

A mermaid's fate is to vanish into the sea as a bubble. And when a dog gets too greedy, it ends up a stray with nowhere to go.

[First-person perspective, sweet and angsty, tragic ending]

The mermaid and the dog are both metaphors. The main characters are human.

Theme: Make an effort to learn how to love others and yourself.
