The drunk sobs and begs for mercy.
“Can’t remember which hand?” The young man’s smile deepens, but his voice grows colder. “Then let’s break both.”
As he speaks, the man hears the sound of his own finger bones snapping.
Screams echo through the dark alley.
In a luxurious private room on the top floor of Zone, Qi Xing, dressed as a server, lounges lazily on the sofa. A friend beside him teases him wickedly. “You’ve been going to see that young cop a lot lately! It’s been months. Still haven’t won him over?”
Qi Xing quietly gets up and hands a bottle of liquor to the man in black behind him. He says two words, his tone casual but firm: “Hit me.”
The man in black doesn’t dare. Qi Xing turns the bottle around and smashes it hard against his own shoulder. The glass shatters, and blood stains his white shirt red. Qi Xing seems not to feel the pain at all. He curls his lips into a handsome smile. “I really should pick up the pace.”
Watching him walk out, everyone in the private room thinks the same thing: “Psycho.”
A dozen minutes later, Zhou Kaiyue runs into the injured Qi Xing while on patrol. His reason tells him to stay away, but his feet carry him over anyway.
Qi Xing looks up and smiles at him with a pale face. “You’re not avoiding me anymore?”
Zhou Kaiyue silently helps him up.
If he could have avoided him, he shouldn’t have met Song Qixing in the first place.
