Her best friend might not be going back to their hometown this summer, and while Duoqingqing was bored, she unexpectedly came across an adorable rabbit.
She vaguely remembered her mother saying that rabbits' real tails were very long.
She really wanted to touch one and see for herself!
But she followed the little rabbit as it ran, and eventually arrived in front of a pitch-black hole.
The rabbit hopped inside, while Duoqingqing stayed outside.
Usually the child who listened to her parents most, Duoqingqing hesitated. She really wanted to see what was inside.
Before she could think it over, though, her frail body felt a powerful suction pull her in.
After a brief spell in the dark, the sudden brightness and unfamiliar surroundings left her bewildered.
She was frightened by this strange world and the unfamiliar “rabbits” she found there. Duoqingqing could even understand what they were saying.
She had never been away from her parents before, and tears streamed down her face.
But after she slowly calmed down, Duoqingqing found that all the animal friends here were kind. They helped her and played with her.
She also discovered that every animal family living here had its own little flaws that needed fixing.
Through one experience after another, Duoqingqing kept trying to be independent. She tried not to cry whenever something happened, and to stop relying on her parents to rescue her without even thinking things through.
She could even go fetch the leopard doctor for Grandpa Goat.
Oh... she didn't seem to be that child who always relied on others anymore. She seemed to have found a balance, learning what she needed to handle on her own and what she could discuss and solve with others.
She seemed to have really grown up, but she still kept her innocence. She wasn't turning into the “boring grown-up” her mother had warned her about.
If this was growing up, she was more than happy to do it!
