Little bear Duoduo's winter sleep is over! As soon as it wakes up, it sees its mom and dad. While hugging them, it feels strange.
Its heart goes "thump, thump, thump" and beats really fast, and it wants to laugh.
Is it sick?
But Mama Bear tells it that this is what being happy feels like.
Oh. But little bear Duoduo still has a hard time understanding.
It hops outside to play with its good friend, only to discover that the little tree it planted last year has died. It feels strange again, with something swelling inside its heart and making it uncomfortable.
The story introduces seven emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, disgust, surprise, fear, and love. It explains how children experience each emotion, and teaches them not to feel ashamed, but to take their emotions seriously and accept them in a healthy way.
Don't be afraid just because you spilled a glass of milk.
