The Widow in the Unofficial History Is Alluring and Bewitching

Female Lead: A coy, bewitching little flirt * an eighteen-year-old scheming young widow

Male Lead: An old-fashioned nobleman trapped in feudal conventions * a fervent believer in male supremacy and Confucian rites * sharp-tongued and caustic * supremely stern, corrupt, decayed, and bound by propriety

*

Unofficial histories record:

“Ying Li, head of the distinguished Ying clan, imperial tutor to the Son of Heaven, whose achievements eclipsed even the ruler’s, stood as The Outcast, second only to the emperor and above all others, revered by his people.”

“He spent his life sternly upholding propriety, old-fashioned, caustic, and devoted to the decaying laws and doctrines of the feudal dynasty, placing male supremacy above all else and treating it as the highest principle.”

For all these years,

the head of the Ying clan had always restrained himself and upheld the rites, toiling over state affairs and wielding royal authority. He was an utterly cold and ruthless ruler,

and his life was as spotless and flawless as white jade, without the slightest stain.

That was until he met a coy, bewitching, hypocritical young woman who went to every length to deceive him...

And she was a widow, too!

“...”

Late at night,

the little flirt wrapped her arms around the stern old traditionalist’s neck.

In a sweet, tender voice, she rested her fair, breathtakingly beautiful face against the man’s forehead. Her little hand hidden in her sleeve tugged at his arm and shook it back and forth in a shameless, unseemly manner.

“You said you’d stay with me the last time you came back, but then you left. You coaxed me on the bed as if I were your precious treasure, and now, after just a few days apart, you’re treating me like ice. I won’t have it, I won’t!”

The beautiful young widow pouted her red lips and clung tightly to his waist, refusing to let go.

“I don’t care, I don’t care! You have to stay and keep me company tonight. We haven’t seen each other for over two months. Don’t you miss me?”

The man frowned and shot her an unhappy glance.
