A Dating Game in Hong Kong's Horror World

[Blurb]

The rain pours without letup. Ever since Song Xiao accidentally stepped on some half-burned joss paper, a pair of red high heels has been chasing her nonstop.

Fortunately, the general store ahead is still lit.

An old woman wears a melon-shaped cap, with a burning white candle stuck on top. Her face is full of worry. "Oh dear, Tsim Sha Tsui hasn't been safe lately. How could you two young ladies be walking around at night?"

Song Xiao feels a chill run down her spine.

At a funeral that night, she couldn't help taking a few extra looks at the barefoot beauty standing beside a black funeral wreath bearing the character for "double happiness."

It was as if she had been waiting for the perfect pair of red high heels.

They say the old woman who made paper effigies has died.

Only then did more and more paper figures begin appearing in the mountain village.

Until Song Xiao became one of them.

Xie Chenxi carefully holds her in his arms, smiling brightly. "What harm could a pretty female ghost possibly do?"

The mountain spirit Ling Xiaoxiao stamps her foot in frustration, tugging at the sleeve of Jiang Cha, the woman who seals away evil spirits. Sniffling, she complains, "Look at her! Didn't we agree to compete fairly?"

Song Xiao: ...Sorry, there are just a few too many characters to win over.
