In the year 3066 of the Earth calendar, Prell opened a dating sim called Gotham Records.
The name was strange, but the game had an incredible degree of freedom, and the character models were unexpectedly beautiful.
There was a poor priest with eight-pack abs. If you helped him wipe down the abandoned statue of the Weeping Saint in the corner, he might share an extra-spicy hot dog with you. Eating it would restore two points of hunger and give you a harmless "spicy" debuff.
But if you looked down on him after that, or dared to leave even a single drop of filthy blood in his church, he would grin savagely, pull out two guns from his black robe, and tell you:
"Kid, you're done for."
There was a mysterious owl assassin. When your starting wealth was too low, just seeing his name flash past would force you to reload your save. But once you had enough money to afford a mask, he would obediently lower his head, whether you pinched his cheek or slapped his pert backside.
"Why aren't you judging me anymore, Talon?"
There was also the considerate and reliable detective Drake. Show him a little of the special charm players had, and he'd instantly set down his coffee and fall in love with you. But you'd better not get too carried away, or you'd soon find that your home was practically overflowing with black listening devices.
"Darling, you're under arrest."
After reloading his save 111 times, Prell finally unlocked every achievement. Just as he was about to close the game, he spotted a strange man in the pouring rain, dressed in a bat suit and covered in injuries.
Oh, perfect eye candy, all beat up.
"Who are you?"
"Player."
"Or you can call me the Fourth Calamity."
