The Day I Fell for You

A stormy night filled with thunder and lightning.

Chu Xue was so scared she couldn't sleep. After thinking it over, she hugged her teddy bear and cautiously knocked on the man's door.

At the time, Cheng Shuli was preparing for his promotion from associate professor to full professor, so busy he was overwhelmed. His lights stayed on all night until dawn.

He glanced at the little girl standing in the doorway, her eyes brimming with frightened tears.

"..."

"Big Brother, I can't sleep..."

Cheng Shuli hesitated for a long time, then shifted aside.

"Come in."

Chu Xue listened to the soft tapping of the keyboard over the rumble of thunder.

She felt safe.

At last, she fell asleep.

Cheng Shuli, a young biology professor at A University, was scholarly, gentle, and handsome. He had topped the lists of most eligible men at universities across A City for years.

Countless women had confessed their feelings to him.

Professor Cheng never responded.

But the moment Chu Xue threw herself into his arms, trembling as she said, "Cheng Shuli, I love you," his heart suddenly went into turmoil.

Because she was the little girl

he had raised himself.
