Whispers of a Gentle Summer

[Blurb]

It was the tenth year Xia Ji had been with Xie Qingyan when Xia Ji's first love returned.

Friend request accepted.

In the dead of night, her phone screen stayed lit until five in the morning.

Early the next morning, Xia Ji stretched and opened her bleary eyes, just as she did every day.

Then she suddenly saw Xie Qingyan, who should have been at the office, sitting on the sofa.

An open laptop rested in front of his knees. It was connected to Xia Ji's WeChat, which had never been a secret from him.

Xie Qingyan looked perfectly calm. He had even thoughtfully tidied up Xia Ji's desktop. Calmly, he looked at the computer, then at the green text messages that had been flying back and forth until the screen was hot. Then he raised his head and said, very evenly,

"Xia Ji."

"We've been together for ten years."

"During those ten years..."

"Was there ever a moment when..."

"You fell in love with me?"

Xia Ji had never imagined that one day she would cross paths with Wen Jing again.

After all, she had been by Xie Qingyan's side for ten years.

Note: An absolutely over-the-top melodrama. The author was starving for content, so she carved it out of her own flesh.

A story with a broad cast.

Theme: Peace, love, and growing together.
