Apple Cider Vinegar

"Female lawyer x top-tier star male singer / Independent and resilient x arrogant but devoted"

"Urban romance / Reunited after a long separation / Mending a broken relationship, starting with their reunion"

As a top-tier singer-songwriter with both looks and talent, Shen Muyi became famous at a young age and had always been steady onstage. Yet he dominated the trending charts this year after forgetting the lyrics at the first show of his concert tour, thanks to the negative publicity.

Afterward, his manager asked why he'd forgotten the lyrics. Shen Muyi said casually, "Oh, it's nothing. I just saw my ex-girlfriend."

Years after their breakup, Ruan Yan never expected to run into Shen Muyi again at his concert.

He stood beneath the spotlights, no longer the inexperienced boy he once was. His face was stern, his features striking, and tens of thousands of fans adored him.

But what Ruan Yan expected even less was that a camera randomly filming the audience would catch her face and project it onto the big screen, where it stayed for at least five seconds.

Ten years ago, Ruan Yan and Shen Muyi really had done what he wrote in the lyrics of Apple Vinegar: on an empty rooftop at dusk, they drank the same cup of apple vinegar through two straws.

What the lyrics didn't say was that they had held each other on that rooftop and shared a bittersweet, apple-scented kiss.

Ruan Yan thought that after ten years, Shen Muyi had long since moved on, and that what he'd mentioned in the song had merely served as songwriting material.

But she had no idea that a few months later, Shen Muyi would come to her home at night under the pretext of work.

That night, the wind drifted in through the window, and they drank apple vinegar from a different brand than the one they'd shared ten years earlier.

Shen Muyi leaned over her on the sofa, slowly drawing closer. His clear, captivating voice murmured in her ear: "Can we start over?"

Ruan Yan clenched the hem of her clothes and edged backward, saying softly, "You once said that if I really broke up with you, you never wanted to see me again for the rest of your life."

Shen Muyi's breath caught. He lowered his eyes. "...But you were the one who came to see me first."
