I died.

The moment I opened my eyes, I'd transmigrated to another world and had to face an emperor.

The emperor was very handsome, but terrifying. He seemed like the sort of person who'd be good at killing people. To stay alive, I trembled and pretended I had amnesia, but he seemed to see through me and looked at me with an amused, intrigued expression.

Why? What do you mean? And who am I?

The setting is fictional, with no fixed historical dynasty as a reference. It's a hodgepodge of ideas and flights of fancy.

The heroine is an ardent fan of paper characters and loves what she loves. The hero's feelings for her are very strong.

Ninety-five percent of the heroine's opinions of the hero in the story are filtered through her paper-character fan goggles.

The story was originally titled The Chronicles of Chu Fei. It is also known as The Key in the Cage and Falling Clouds.

First published: June 30, 2022. There may be bonus chapters, but that's uncertain.

The humorous version: The emperor told me not to be a lovesick saint.

The true core: Imperial power cannot shake my nobility.
