[P.S. The main story has a lighthearted tone.]
[The blurb has changed quite a bit. Feel free to add it to your collection if you'd like.]
Blurb One:
The thing Yu Song stuck with longest, from childhood onward, was acting.
As a kid, he put on an act in front of his classmates over who got to have a spicy snack. When he grew up, he acted in front of his parents so he could go out and work after graduating from high school.
And it's no surprise that the job he eventually took up was related to acting, too.
As the eldest child in the family, Yu Song supported his younger siblings, his sick father, and his frail mother. Money mattered a lot to him.
He never went to college. As soon as he became an adult, he went to work on construction sites, carrying bags. He'd heard actors made good money, so he looked everywhere for a chance to get a part in a production.
After finally becoming a featured extra, or a high-end background actor, he realized he was still at risk of being unemployed.
So he kept honing his acting, and honing it, seizing one opportunity after another until he finally became a well-known supporting actor in the industry.
Being an actor known for his skill was tough. Plenty of production crews wanted to hire him, but only because he was cheap and reliable.
Yu Song couldn't accept it. If they were all acting, and he was better than those people, why was he still paid so much less? It wasn't fair!
Watching those people collect astronomical salaries, Yu Song was green with envy.
At long last, his perseverance paid off. After playing countless supporting roles, Yu Song became a star.
Blurb Two:
There's always a certain kind of person in the entertainment industry. They aren't handsome or pretty, but their acting makes their characters unforgettable.
After Yu Song became famous, that's how audiences felt about him.
He'd never played a handsome man, but every character he played came with an aura buff. Compared with the popular male lead in the same show, he stood out as especially handsome.
Everyone who'd met him in person said he was really good-looking, just not photogenic.
Even his friends said, "Song, you're getting damn good-looking. Did you get work done?"
Yu Song rolled his eyes. "Bullshit! I was the class heartthrob when I was a kid, okay? I only grew up to be an ugly duckling!!!"
"Getting more handsome"? I've just returned to my original level of good looks. Haven't you heard that being famous makes you glow?
