Monster Log

I'm Jin Zhao, a genius scientist living in the 32nd century, where biotechnology has run rampant.

Or, I was a scientist. Now I'm a felon.

.

After the Federation used Xie Yi, the new human I created, to keep the Federation under control... Wait, they don't acknowledge Xie Yi as human. They treat him as artificial intelligence.

They discovered Xie Yi's Three Laws.

Law One: Love Jin Zhao madly.

Law Two: Never disobey Jin Zhao.

Law Three: Never reveal the first two laws to anyone.

The good news is that I really am a genius, and Xie Yi really is no longer a cold artificial intelligence. He has evolved self-awareness.

The bad news is that with self-awareness comes the desire to fight back.

Apparently, he wants to kill me.

.

I don't know how long I was imprisoned or what happened, but when I woke up, the surface pollution index was at level ten, all humanity had turned into monsters, and I had been polluted into a mermaid with inferior genes.

To make ends meet, I work at a convenience store during the day and sleep in a bathtub at night.

But even so, I'm still going to die. With genes this inferior, living long enough to grow legs would be a miracle.

Xie Yi found me when I was on the brink of death and grabbed me by the throat. The peerlessly handsome face I had painstakingly created was terrifyingly cold. "You can't die yet."

I kissed him. "Of course. You love me."

Xie Yi's expression grew even more terrifying, his aura surging. I leaned against him. "If you push me away now, I'll fall and die."

Xie Yi desperately wanted me dead, but his hands involuntarily caught hold of me. His eyes were alarmed. "You won't die."

The First Law could not be violated.

Yes, he still loved me madly.

A sweet romance, probably. I'm not entirely sure, but it should be sweet.
