An He has never been able to stay in love for more than a few minutes.
Not even with her next-door neighbor, Jiang Zhihuai, whose flawless looks are exactly her type, though he is distant and impossible to approach.
While her feelings are still hot, she does everything she can to get him. Once they cool, she dumps him without a second thought.
The night they break up, Jiang Zhihuai is dumped by her, then loses his mother moments later.
Chrysanthemums lie scattered outside the funeral home. Dressed in black, Jiang Zhihuai stands tall and blocks An He at the entrance. He glances at his watch and says coldly:
“Listen carefully. You have five minutes. After that, don't ever let me see you again.”
“Or you'll face the consequences.”
An He knows Jiang Zhihuai will never forgive her, because all his pain now has something to do with her, including his mother's death.
The fact that Jiang Zhihuai doesn't curse her out is proof of his good manners. As for the consequences he mentioned...
She knows he wasn't joking for even a second. He might even kill her.
So An He flees in a panic.

Years later, they meet again at a banquet. With nowhere to hide, An He decides to give up and face it.
She presses her red lips together, raises a hand in greeting, and smiles, guilt hidden behind her expression. He glances at her, then looks away as if she doesn't exist.
The danger seems to have passed, so she excitedly seeks out a male friend she hasn't seen in years to celebrate.
Her happiness lasts less than a day. That night, she's tied up and taken away in a car. The promised “consequences” have finally arrived, though late.
She's thrown onto a huge sofa. A cold, heavy masculine presence bears down on her. The man lifts her chin, looking displeased as he studies her expression.
“Why tie me up and drag me off as soon as we meet? What are you trying to do?” An He slowly lifts her eyes, her slender, pale fingers pressing against his chest.
Jiang Zhihuai turns his head and gives a cold laugh, tugging at the tie binding her hands. “What would someone do after tying a person up and bringing her to a hotel? You know perfectly well, don't you, sis?”
“There are plenty of things we could do. I don't know which one you mean.” An He turns pale and raises an eyebrow at him.
“With you,” Jiang Zhihuai says, his expression nonchalant as he grips her chin. “The only thing we can do is... no, have sex.”
