Clingy puppy-like pursuer x gentle, older, seductive pursued
Pet shop owner x psychologist
The ex who dumped Ji Mingxu a few years ago returns to the country and asks to get back together.
Ji Mingxu is furious: "If I give you the time of day, I'm a dog."
Not long afterward, Ji Mingxu gets into a car accident.
The good news: all four limbs are intact, and he can eat anything.
The bad news: he's lost his memory.
The worse news: he thinks he's a puppy.
One minute he's demanding bones, the next he's making a fuss and asking someone to pet him.
If he doesn't get his way, he barks around the house and drives the whole family crazy.
At their wits' end, his parents find a psychologist and send him over.
The bad news: the psychologist is the ex who dumped him.
The good news: Ji Mingxu has forgotten.
He just thinks this older brother is wonderful: handsome, gentle, and a good cook.
Most importantly, he never seems surprised when Ji Mingxu says he's a dog. Instead, he praises him, kisses him, and pets him.
He even lets him sleep in his bed and holds him, saying he's the only one for him.
One day, Ji Mingxu comes across a pet influencer's post about getting a dog license and says, "I want one of those, too."
Bai Tan asks him over and over, "Are you sure you want one?"
Ji Mingxu nods vigorously.
The next day, Bai Tan takes him to get a little red booklet.
One day, Ji Mingxu suddenly wakes up and remembers everything. Slowly, he opens his eyes.
His ex, the man he swore never to see again, is sleeping beside him.
Ji Mingxu closes his eyes, resigned.
I've already been a dog and gotten married. What else can I do?
Reader's guide:
It's probably a short story that leans more toward romance, since the author usually writes plot-driven stories (bows).
A second-chance romance, set in a world where same-sex marriage is legal (bows).
