A Female Constable Joins the Six Gates

Jiang Caidie, the Jade Butterfly, the Thief Saint x Cheng Burang, the Six Fan Gate's top constable (sworn enemies are destined to fall in love)

On the first day after Jiang Caidie retired from thieving, A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, a national treasure kept in the imperial palace, was stolen. The streets were buzzing with convincing rumors, all claiming she was the culprit.

Overnight, the court issued a warrant for her arrest, and the martial world put a bounty on her head. Everyone piled on when she was down. Enemies came out of the woodwork, and bounty hunters were everywhere, hoping to cash in on her life. Even her hideout had become a tourist attraction.

The ancestor of thieves made a living giving other people grief. There was no way she could swallow such a massive injustice.

She decided to find a safe place to lie low, then gather clues and catch the little thief impersonating her in one fell swoop.

After thinking it over, the Six Fan Gate seemed like a pretty good choice: high pay, great benefits, and the chance to openly slack off on company time.

Except her sworn enemy, Cheng Burang, worked there.

Cheng Burang joined the Six Fan Gate while still young. He caught countless thieves at an early age and was undoubtedly the best constable in the world.

Until he met the Thief Saint, the Jade Butterfly. She dealt him the biggest defeat of his career.

After seven years of hunting thieves, he still didn't know what the thief looked like.

Cheng Burang gave up sleep and marriage, devoting himself to bringing the Jade Butterfly to justice. In time, he became famous at the Six Fan Gate for being detached from worldly desires and as cold and merciless as iron, always wearing a scowl and finding fault with everyone.

Then one day, he saw the new young constable: a girl in red, bright and radiant, standing out among a bunch of useless fools. He couldn't take his eyes off her.

So lively, so clever, so charming, so...

"Wait, why does she smell so familiar?"
