Welcome to the Garden of Hunger

In the year 197 of the New Era, Paradise.

Sui An clamped a nutrient pack between her teeth and listlessly scrolled through the district's daily news.

Beside her, her friend tore into a newly bought loaf of bread, then broke off half and offered it to her. "Are you hungry?"

Sui An shook her head. "No."

A few minutes later, her friend's breathing stopped. Her face twisted in pain, and an indescribable stench poured from her body as her flesh rapidly rotted and deformed before Sui An's eyes.

Sui An stood frozen in place, her throat moving against her will.

...She swallowed.
