A gentle, wheelchair-bound angel and a headstrong, sharp-tongued cool girl
A dessert shop owner and a truck driver
An accident leaves Jiang Qingchen, a classical dance prodigy whose star was only just beginning to rise, destined to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. The goddess falls from her pedestal, leaving everyone to lament her fate.
With both legs disabled and her childhood sweetheart in love with someone who came along later, Jiang Qingchen accepts it all calmly. She returns to her hometown and runs a dessert shop, living a peaceful, uneventful life.
If only she hadn't gotten drunk that night and slept with Lu Qiao in an act of self-destruction.
"Aren't your legs numb? You nearly crushed my head off last night. Who knew that a living Bodhisattva who's always so ethereal could be like that in bed?"
Lu Qiao leans over Jiang Qingchen's wheelchair, grinning as she savors the memory, eyes narrowed in shameless delight.
Jiang Qingchen's face darkens, but Lu Qiao's teasing still makes her cheeks flush. She raises a hand and slaps her.
Lu Qiao leans close to her ear and whispers a threat: "You wouldn't want your parents to find out you don't want to live, would you?"
Jiang Qingchen shoves her away, her expression gloomy. "What exactly do you want?"
Lu Qiao grins carelessly and tells her to come to her room tonight.
Jiang Qingchen has hated Lu Qiao since they were children, but she still agrees to the rendezvous. Once becomes many times.
Later, after her parents pass away, Jiang Qingchen truly doesn't want to live. In one last act of compassion, she gets out of her wheelchair and jumps into the sea. Using the only part of her legs she can still move, she rescues someone, hoping to trade her life for theirs.
As she sinks into the sea and loses consciousness, someone suddenly grabs her arm and pulls her up.
Lu Qiao's eyes are red as she yells, "Damn it, Jiang Qingchen! You've been a living Bodhisattva for years, protecting so many people. Even a stray cat or dog can make you cry, so why can't I?"
It's the first time Jiang Qingchen has seen Lu Qiao cry. Holding her in the water, Lu Qiao begs desperately, "Living Bodhisattva, show some mercy and save me, will you?"
"Save me. Make me stop loving you, make me forget you, and I'll never bother you again."
Unfortunately, Jiang Qingchen is done being a living Bodhisattva.
She wants Lu Qiao to bother her and love her.
Lu Qiao tugs her braids, lifts her skirt, hooks a finger under her underwear strap, and teases her about the pimples on her face. She's bullied Jiang Qingchen since they were children, and even when Jiang Qingchen becomes disabled and is confined to a wheelchair, Lu Qiao keeps bullying her in it until Jiang Qingchen can't take it anymore and slaps her.
Lu Qiao leans in shamelessly and asks her to hit the other cheek, too.
Lu Qiao just loves it when Jiang Qingchen slaps her.
I ran out of inspiration for the previous version, so I've replaced the blurb. My apologies! (bows)
