Hyperrealistic Full-Dive: A Hidden Wasteland Start from the Start

Sang Wu was "forced" to become a beta tester for Pudu, an immersive new fantasy VR game.

The game world.

Malicious demonic energy runs rampant.

The immortal cultivators of the upper realm are suffering terribly.

Spiritual energy is scarce, cultivation advances slowly, demons form in people's hearts as a matter of course, and they face the risk of exploding at any moment.

If you want to stay alive, you have to gulp down pills nonstop.

Low-level cultivators rely on spirit medicine to stay alive, while high-level ones struggle to advance with its help.

But the immortal herbs used to make spirit medicine are difficult to grow because of the demonic energy.

Qualified apothecaries are few and far between, and spirit medicine is in short supply. It's become a rare commodity in the game world, as precious as a priceless treasure.

Sang Wu summed it up: Apothecaries are in high demand.

Demons are the mortal enemy of the upper realm.

Not interested in the game, she used the skip button to bypass the prologue, skipped the target guide, and hit random selection. She picked a single-target route that she thought would "end the game the fastest" and stepped into the upper realm.

System: "Welcome back, future great apothecary."

The next second

[System Notice: You have become a demon]

Sang Wu: ?

Later, the cultivators rioted.

Under the slogan "If we can't have it, we'll destroy it," they attacked the apothecaries, destroyed spirit medicine, and fought desperately against the spirit guardians.

The rioters summoned demons to fight, but stumbled into the place where demonic energy was first born.

Sang Wu, one of the apothecaries, fell in with them, still holding half a tube of unfinished medicine.

The rioters shouted, "Kill!"

Not long after, just a few steps from Sang Wu, thick black mist spread everywhere, and blood stained the ground.

The rioters' mangled corpses piled up like a mountain.

In front of the others who were still barely alive, Sang Wu dropped the medicine. It fell freely to the ground and shattered into pieces.

"If you won't take your medicine, then..." Sang Wu sighed with regret and frustration. "You might as well become a demon."

This was supposed to be a game about winning someone over, so how did she end up with a leveling-up plot...

Legs together, facing up, hands folded over her chest, she chants a witch's spell.

She absolutely refuses to let herself fall asleep without dreaming of the company's kindness, with her boss being dragged around upside down.

Even in the apocalyptic game she's gotten into, she still doggedly shares her grand ideals and draws up a glorious blueprint for building a happy new world with her online bestie.

Her language is manic, her spirits high.

Then Li Man finds out she has a weekly report due tomorrow: ^_^④.

And so

The next day, it was an utterly ordinary morning.

Li Man solemnly accepted the breakfast the delivery guy brought up ten minutes early, then ceremoniously took a sip of soy milk through the straw.

As she shut the door and turned around, the delivery guy crashed face-first into the company's glass entrance.

And glared right at her.

Ten minutes later.

The company entrance shattered, the boss jumped out the window, her coworkers screamed and fled, and the cleaning lady dropped her mop and started biting anyone she saw.

Heaven had answered her prayers, with the deluxe version included.

In a little corner,

Li Man huddled at her inconspicuous desk, chewing her warm breakfast in terror.

Then she pulled out her phone, took a picture, and posted it on her social media.

She also gave her online bestie an update on the situation.

Her bestie replied instantly with a thoughtful, sensible solution.

"You have two choices in front of you right now."

"Option A: Walk over to the cleaning lady five meters away and join her."

"Option B: Pick up the pen in front of you."

Li Man: ?

"Pick it up, then what?"

Her bestie: "Kill the damn thing!!!"

Li Man calmly stood up from her desk and slowly backed two steps toward the window, then looked up.

Ahead of her, a coworker was struggling, his face twisted as he tried to fight back with a fruit knife. In an instant, someone bit through his neck.

She glanced silently at the pen in her hand and typed again: "Is there an option C?"

Her bestie: "There is ^_^."

"The window behind you. You can choose to leave this beautiful world in peace."

The next second

A coworker knocked Li Man out the window: "..."
