Alice Garry is one of the most unremarkable students at Hogwarts.
Plain-looking, average grades, shy personality. Even her own Head of House needs three seconds to remember her name when she sees her.
Yet this ordinary witch has fallen for one of the least ordinary wizards in their year.

She likes how spirited he looks on the Quidditch Pitch; she likes how he scratches his head in frustration in class; and she likes the slight arch of his eyebrows when she confesses her feelings to him most of all.
"You said..." he asked, "...who are you again?"
"Alice Garry, Alice from Hufflepuff," she said. "I just wanted to ask if you'd go to Hogsmeade with me this week."
He looked confused, his jaw tense as if he were trying to remember who she was.
She started to panic and blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"Please, George Weasley. I just made a bet with someone that I had to ask you out at least once, or I'd lose two Galleons."
He paused briefly, then suddenly smiled.
"No problem, Alice Garry," he said. "I, George Weasley, would be delighted to go out with you in Hogsmeade this week."
Just as her heart began to flutter, he added, "But you'll have to give me one Galleon."
At that moment, Alice's heart died for a second.
Then it came back to life with even greater vigor.

1. As the blurb makes clear, this is a cheesy, clichéd little story all about love.
2. The male lead is already decided. It's in the blurb, so those who know, know.
3. No personal attacks or writing advice, please.
