Xu Shuyao was the Xu family’s only daughter. Spoiled since childhood, she had grown used to getting anything she took an interest in.
At twenty, she attended a basketball game with her father as an investor.
The team in white jerseys was a struggling basketball team owned by the Xu Group, one on the verge of being abandoned. That night, a young player of just twenty led them to victory.
She stared at him.
Number eleven, Ye Junchi.
The famously handsome, striking man everyone wanted to pluck, yet no one had managed to win.
Xu Shuyao silently repeated his name to herself, then bet her friend she’d have him within a month.

When they were together, they were like any other couple: watching movies, having candlelit dinners, and huddling under the covers to play games…
Just as Ye Junchi was putting all his effort into planning a surprise for their first anniversary, Xu Shuyao gave him a huge shock instead.
It was a rainy night. She took the couple’s ring off her ring finger and said blandly, “Your job is so special you can’t even wear a couple’s ring with me. This relationship isn’t fun. I don’t want to date anymore.”
The silver ring sank into a puddle, as if Ye Junchi’s heart had fallen with it to the freezing point.

Eight years after their breakup, Xu Shuyao and Ye Junchi met again at a mutual friend’s wedding.
After that night, they did everything exes should and shouldn’t do, yet neither of them brought up getting back together.
She naturally assumed she was just an insignificant passerby in Ye Junchi’s life.
But as they drank and traded toasts, she heard Ye Junchi demand coldly:
“Are you going to play with me like I’m a dog again, then kick me away all over again?”
Without giving her a chance to argue, Ye Junchi stormed off, leaving her to disappear from his life once more without a trace.
One day later, word reached Ye Junchi that Xu Shuyao was returning to Britain.
He rushed to find her, only to hear her speak in a gentle voice with a perfectly composed smile: “I’m leaving tomorrow. I hope your season opener next week goes well.”
His expression froze. He bent down and held her shoulders, his eyes suddenly brimming with tears, panic written all over his face.
“Eight years ago, you dumped me once. Now you’re doing it again.”
“Xu Shuyao, you don’t get to decide it’s over this time.”
Xu Shuyao was confused. “Weren’t you the one who told me not to treat you like a dog?”
Ye Junchi: “…”
