[Collection of standalone stories]
Story One:
Tang Nian, the strongest fighter in the apocalypse.
At the beginning of the apocalypse, he formed a team, built a base, and took in wave after wave of refugees.
After multiple large-scale outbreaks, bases across the land fell one by one. The base he defended was the only one to hold out until the end with almost no casualties.
But later, when the disasters ended and the mutations stopped, the strongest fighter once hailed as humanity's guardian became someone everyone feared.
They feared his strength, twisted his sacrifices into something monstrous, and spread conspiracy theories that he had started this world-shattering disaster. In the end, they mobilized an entire city to kill him.
After dying, Tang Nian opened his eyes to find himself back at the beginning of the apocalypse.
He had just formed his team, and his teammates had yet to die or be scattered while protecting others.
Looking at the faces of those desperate to survive amid the ruins, this time he did not reach out to help.
In his previous life, his power had no upper limit. He saved everyone he could, charged into every battle, and used his own body to block countless attacks that should have struck others.
Yet the people he saved blamed him for failing to save everyone and for failing to protect them from every harm. Hysterically, they demanded that he answer for the lives lost.
In this life, he ignores other people's cries for help. But the one or two times he casually lends a hand, people worship him as a god.
They look to him with fervent eyes and would sacrifice anything for even the slightest bit of his protection.
Tang Nian can only laugh at the absurdity of it.
Humanoid weapon, long-haired beauty shou x deep-thinking, smiling tiger gong
1. Mutation-apocalypse setting. After evolving, the shou becomes a winged being with a pair of incredibly sacred wings (drools). The gong is a plant-type with vines (and a hidden healing ability).
2. The gong and shou grew up together, but were the kind who never got along.
3. After using his powers at high intensity, the shou suffers an energy imbalance. Only the gong's blood can soothe it (yes, there will be blood-feeding and neck-biting scenes).
Story Two:
Bo Chi, the youngest S-rank Alpha general in the Imperial Legion.
He graduated from the Imperial Military Academy with top honors at fifteen.
At sixteen, he became famous after leading a squad of barely a dozen people to repel an enemy invasion.
From sixteen to twenty-five, he fought on every front and built up an impressive record of military service.
But just as war with the enemy nation broke out, he did not die at the enemy's hands. Instead, he was killed in the Imperial elite's ruthless game of power.
He became a pawn discarded by the Imperial elite. He and the elite unit he had spent nearly ten years painstakingly training were all destroyed in a trap set by their own side.
As he clung to life, it was the enemy nation's general, who had opposed him for years, who came to his rescue.
With his last breath, Bo Chi watched the Imperial elite denounce him as a "deserter" in a broadcast to the entire Empire. He died full of scorn.
Unexpectedly, when he opened his eyes again, he had returned to the eve of the war.
They said he was a deserter, did they?
Bo Chi smiled brightly and, that very night, led his elite troops away, making the Imperial elite's accusation of desertion come true.
If he couldn't be the Empire's savior, then he might as well be its destroyer.
Easygoing, free-spirited military genius shou x secretly in love with him for years, strong gong
1. Both are Alphas.
2. Before being reborn, they loved and fought each other. After being reborn, they join hands to build their careers.
