[Kowloon Walled City] Playing the Rabbit to Catch the Tiger

Even though Lan Nan really hated the walled city, when Brother Long said, "You know Brother Qiu, right? From now on, you'll be with him," she was so shocked that it took her a moment to get into character. She raised a hand to cover her eyes, her shoulders trembling as she sobbed. "I'm only ten, but I know you have to repay a kindness. Even if you, Brother Long, sell me off to keep Brother Qiu company... I'll accept my fate... Ah!"

Of course, Long Juan kicked her off balance first, then Xin slapped the back of her head.

The little thug, who was half a head shorter than her, scolded her. "You're overdoing it. Don't ruin Brother Long's reputation! Oh, and Brother Qiu's, too."

Lan Nan peered through her fingers with perfectly dry eyes. She watched Brother Qiu give Brother Long a look that said, "Is this walled-city brat implying I'm some sort of depraved loli-con?" Then he turned around, spotted her watching, and ruffled her hair. "Call me your godfather, and be a good girl from now on. I'll give you anything you want."

The heroine is clever, capable, scheming, and a master actress...

I borrowed some character names from the comics, changing their sounds a little, but the movie universe is basically unrelated to the comics. So Xin Yi and she are just childhood friends who bicker like siblings.

There might be a one-sided crush from Chen, though I've been finding Luo Jun easier to write, so for now the ending will probably be a mutual pairing. But the main focus is family ties with Long, Qiu, and Xin. So even if she shouts, "I like Brother Long! Xin Yi is my rival in love!" it's really just an extension of the daddy issues plotline...?

I've finally got a bit of time, so I'm planning to revise the whole story, cutting some of the northern side plots and related characters I had planned earlier, and reworking the Cantonese dialogue. There are still lots of mistakes, and it's too hard for me to get right, so it may be a little confusing... I'll see how it goes. If it doesn't work, I'll switch it back... I am updating, I really am, just slowly...

Premise: The walled city is awful, but the people are good.
